Use this to ...
• Edit dimensional values.
• Convert dimensions to reference dimensions.
• Reconnect dimensions.
• Activate and deactivate dimensions.
• Reverse a dimension value using Swap.

Prerequisites
• You should be in the Sketcher workbench.

Process: Editing Dimensions
1. In the Graphics window, pick the dimension you want to edit.
2. Double-click the dimension or select Edit [Feature name] object Definition. The Constraint Definition dialog displays.


3. In the Value text box, enter the new dimension.



4. Click OK to apply the new value.

Process: Editing the Sector of Angular Dimensions
1. In the Graphics window, pick the angular dimension you want to edit.
2. Double-click the dimension or select Edit [Feature name] object Definition. The Constraint Definition dialog displays.


3. In the Angular sector list, select an option. CATIA previews the position of the dimension.



4. Click OK to apply the change.

Process: Converting a Dimension to Reference
1. In the Graphics window, pick the dimension you want to edit.
2. Double-click the dimension or select Edit [Feature name] object Definition. The Constraint Definition dialog displays.
3. Activate Reference.



4. Click OK to apply the change.

Process: Swapping Dimension Locations
1. In the Graphics window, pick the dimension you want to edit.
2. Double-click the dimension or select Edit [Feature name] object Definition. The Constraint Definition dialog displays.
3. Click More. The Constraint Definition dialog expands.
4. Click Swap location to move the dimension location.



5. Click OK to apply the swap.

Process: Reconnecting Dimensions
1. In the Graphics window, pick the dimension you want to edit.
2. Double-click the dimension or select Edit [Feature name] object Definition. The Constraint Definition dialog displays.
3. Click More. The Constraint Definition dialog expands.
4. In the Supporting Elements list, select the component to reconnect.



5. Click Reconnect. CATIA prompts you to select an element.
6. In the Graphics window, pick the new dimension support element. CATIA previews the new dimension.
7. Click OK to reconnect the dimension.

Process: Activating/Deactivating Dimensions
1. In the Graphics window, pick the dimension you want to edit.
2. Select Edit [Feature name] object Deactivate to deactivate the dimension.
3. Select Edit [Feature name] object Activate to reactivate the dimension.

Tips
• Double-click a dimension to display the dimensional Constraint Definition dialog.
• Right-click a dimension to bring up the pop-up menu, which allows you to edit the dimension properties.
